Indigo Checked Cloth
Stitched in sections to make a check pattern all over, this indigo is unique and hard to find in Guinee. Indigo is an extract of various plants & was used as early as 2500BC. on leaving the dye bath the fabric has a pale yello colour which is transformed to blue by oxidisation on contact with the air. All shades are possible, from Sky Blue to a blue which is practically black.
